The newly opened Artisans Room in the Ash Lawn-Highland Museum Shop features Virginia-made products by local artisans. Each week of the holiday shopping season, the Museum Shop will highlight works by one or more artists who live and work in Virginia. Stop by the Museum Shop to take home locally-made quality crafts that reflect Virginia’s heritage and the richness and diversity of today’s flourishing artisan community. The Museum Shop Artisans Room is a partnership with the Artisans Center of Virginia (ACV).
Gail Speidell fashions wonderfully colored ceramics. “I love the qualities of clay, its softness when the pots are made, and its strength and endurance once the pot has been fired.”

Alex Pettigrew creates functional accessories from American wood. Abstaining from stains—and relying instead on the material’s “natural palette”—he works to bring out the wood’s inherent beauty.
